Le Jardin

On a lazy Sunday
I wander’d through the yard
My boots printed in the grainy dirt
The pinwheel lazily turned about
The sparrows chattered softly in the bath
Sunshine twinkled through the branches
I tipped the soil through my palm
Carefully the weeds were plucked
I studied the young seed sprouts
And stopped to linger longer
The water spray cast a rainbow
The droplets were fat
The soil drank and got dark
And I hummed and happy tune
